The Philippines Is Installing 23,000 Free WiFI Hotspots for Public

23,000 Free WiFI Hotspots are being installed by the Philippines to cope up with the business and online learning during the coronavirus pandemic.

DICT (Department of Information and Communications Technology) told on Friday that they have invested $155 million to install 23,000 free wifi hotspots for the public, These hotspots will be installed on 4,248 sites by the end of June 2020.

Half of these sites are Educations, including Private Colleges, Schools, and Universities. Others will be installed in the offices including Government offices, public hospitals, libraries, transport spots, public parks, and plaza.

This initiative is to help kids to learn from their Homes by giving them free wifi services until Covid-19 goes away.

This step will help boost Phillipppines their economy. President Durerte has imposed the most strict lockdown in the region.
