Outlook Web App is finally here, it is a step taken by Microsoft to make their service available for both Windows PCs and Apple Macs.
Microsoft is also eyeing to discontinue the standalone web software for Outlook and replacing it with a web app. The company has called this step a “Project Monarch” that will replace all standalone Microsoft email clients into one web application.
The PRoject Monarch is based on a single code, making it easier to deploy on different platforms using different operating systems. Microsoft is looking to have a single user experience that will give all businesses and subscribers the same experience.
The app will be called Monarch, which will support notifications, share targets, and be available offline. Microsoft wants to keep the same feel and functions while simplifying the app and enhancing the accessibility of its service.
Furthermore, the company is currently engaged in maintaining and adding new features to its calendar and Mail apps. Users will see some UI changes in a few days. The latest design, called “Sun Valley,” will also be added.
The company has also confirmed discontining the 32bit (x86) version of their standalone desktop software for windows PCs.
