World’s First-Ever Tweet on Twitter Auctioned For $2.9 Million Through NFT!

Silicon Valley: Twitter founder and CEO Jack Dorsey has auctioned off the world’s first-ever tweet for $2.9 million with the help of NFT (Non-fungible token)

Containing just five words, this historic tweet was made by Jack Dorsey himself on the night between March 21 and 22, 2006, launching the Twitter service.

Dorsey digitally signed the tweet with the help of state-of-the-art blockchain technology “Non-Fungible Token” (NFT) used to ensure safe buying and selling of “real digital assets” and auctioned it. Placed on a website called “Valuables”.

This website sells authenticated tweets with digital signatures of their original creators, proving the authenticity of these tweets.

Dorsey’s tweet was bought by Cena Estavi, the head of a company called Bridge Oracle, after a tough competition, bidding $2.9 million.

Jack Dorsey said in a statement that he would donate the proceeds from the sale of the tweet to Geo Directly, an organization working for the welfare of the poor in Africa.
