Apple is preparing to introduce its upcoming iPhone 17 series, along with a range of new accessories. In addition to the usual silicone cases, rumours reveal several innovative products on the horizon.
Two years prior, Apple discontinued its leather cases in favor of a more environmentally friendly alternative called FineWoven. However, issues with durability led to its quick withdrawal after just one year. Now, reports indicate that Apple is set to launch a replacement named ‘TechWoven.’
According to Majin Bu, alongside the standard silicone cases that Apple consistently offers, a new TechWoven line is expected to be available for the iPhone 17. The material is speculated to be similar to recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET), which is made from repurposed plastic bottles. Anticipated colour options include black, blue, brown, green, and purple, fitting the entire iPhone 17 lineup.
In addition, Apple is rumored to unveil a new crossbody strap accessory for the device. Majin Bu’s mockups suggest that this item could add a stylish and practical way to carry the iPhone.
Furthermore, the return of the Smart Battery Case is anticipated. Once a popular accessory, it was discontinued, but recent leaks imply a new version may be in development, particularly tailored for the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air. Insider sources suggest that this case could significantly extend usage time for users who typically struggle with battery life on the slim model.
Lastly, there’s speculation about an unconventional bumper case, which could provide some protective features while maintaining the sleek design of the iPhone 17 Air. Although less certain, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman hints that Apple may introduce such an accessory to enhance device protection without compromising its slim profile.
