Huawei Officially Launches Harmony OS 2 For Smartphones

Huawei launches Harmony OS in their smartphones officially after working on it for many years.

Huawei has for some time been preparing the big leap towards a proprietary platform: an idea that was already in the company’s plans, but that the ban imposed by the USA made it urgent and necessary, speeding up its times.

It was thought that the debut of the stable version of HarmonyOS 2 would be on the new flagships of the P50 series (we should still arrive with the Android option), and probably will be so, to the extent that it will be the first models to be equipped with it, since the launch.

But in fact, the first device to leap is another. It is also the latest top of the range with Google Services, or the P30(if you are curious to know which other products should be updated, HERE you will find a list of eligible candidates).

Some Chinese users who own Huawei P30 today reported the arrival of the update, which brings the 2.0.0.33 build of HarmonyOS 2.

The first doubts have already arisen around the Chinese giant’s operating system due to a marked similarity with Android: the company replied by specifying that it is not a copy of the robot because it is a platform designed to work on an entire system of devices.

And it already thinks big: by the end of 2021, it predicts that there will be 300 million smartphones (from Huawei but also other manufacturers) with HarmonyOS.

Obviously, from this point of view, the huge Chinese market is the most concrete target, the one to be conquered immediately: on the Western market, it is easy to imagine a certain resistance, at least at the beginning.
