This is a USB adapter used to connect a mouse & keyboard, controller, or auxiliary power to a gaming console system. This adapter lets the Mouse & Keyboard key presses be mapped just like that of a controller’s input, letting users play their favourite games with a mouse & keyboard instead.
The adapter has Bluetooth connectivity in order to communicate with its app on an Android or iOS device. LIMITATIONS
For the PlayStation 5, a PlayStation 4 adapter is required to be used and only games that support the older adapter will work. The GameSir VX2 AimBox also works well with the Nintendo switch. You can plug the device directly into the mounting bracket USB port, although it also works with the handheld if a USB C adapter is plugged into its base.
Another issue is that this adapter does not support wired headphones, so you either have to use a wireless connection or connect headphones directly to the gaming console. Also, any mouse that comes with a driver installation prior to use is not supported by this adapter.
With these issues at hand, and knowing well that Xbox and PS console do allow direct mouse and keyboard connections, one is left wondering if investing $50 in this device is even worth it or not. It seems that the GameSir VX2 AimBox might be a not-so-useful piece of technology.
