Few television series have made as significant an impression as Euphoria. This show exploded in popularity during its initial two seasons and introduced a wave of fresh talent, with many of its stars poised to become major forces in the film industry.
However, as dedicated viewers are aware, there hasn’t been a new episode in a couple of years—season 2 wrapped up in 2022. With a third season on the horizon, reports suggest that there will be a time jump to reflect the actors’ maturation. According to Zendaya, the lead of the series, this time shift could prove beneficial.
In a conversation with Entertainment Weekly‘s Awardist podcast, she mentioned her uncertainty regarding certain aspects of the new season.
“I don’t actually know much about what is happening,” she admitted. “I don’t quite know exactly what the season is going to look like, but I do know that the time jump is happening.”
As both the star and an executive producer, Zendaya believes that the time leap is a logical and necessary direction for the storyline.
“It will be intriguing to explore these characters beyond the high school setting and to see how their experiences as teenagers influence their adult lives in a larger context. I’m curious to find out what lies ahead,” she expressed.
In June, HBO executive Casey Bloys confirmed the time jump and noted that creator Sam Levinson is enthusiastic about his vision for the forthcoming season and is currently deep in the writing process.
