YouTube has announced that it has resolved a recent issue that briefly disrupted access to their platform, following reports of widespread outages on the outage-tracking website Downdetector.
The platform explained that a problem with its recommendation system was preventing videos from displaying across YouTube’s various surfaces.
“The issue with our recommendations system has been fixed, and all of our platforms—YouTube.com, the YouTube app, YouTube Music, Kids, and TV—are operating normally,” according to an update from YouTube.
According to Downdetector, at the height of the outage, over 320,000 users in the United States submitted reports of issues with YouTube. These figures are based on user reports, so the actual number of affected users could be different.
The outage also impacted several other countries, including India, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Mexico, as reported by Downdetector.
