If you’re one of the many customers of Xfinity, your internet speeds may have just increased, with potential enhancements of up to 100%. Comcast recently revealed an upgrade affecting over 20 million customers that could boost speeds by anywhere from 50 to 100 percent. Additionally, subscribers to plans offering 400Mbps or higher can enjoy a year of Unlimited Xfinity Mobile at no extra charge. Depending on your typical phone bill, this could lead to significant savings.

This offers quite the value, especially since it comes with no additional costs. Comcast credits its fiber network and over $80 billion spent on research in the last decade for these speed improvements. Regardless, customers stand to gain. With the heightened speeds, Xfinity users can download files much faster and upload everything from professional documents to TikTok clips almost instantaneously.

Emily Waldorf, Senior Vice President of Consumer Products at Comcast Connectivity and Platforms, stated, “With our improved download and upload speeds, coupled with our state-of-the-art WiFi equipment and ultra-low-latency internet experience, we’re delivering what we believe is an unrivaled connectivity experience in the market. As 90% of Xfinity Mobile Internet is utilized over WiFi instead of cellular networks, this combination ensures customers experience faster internet and mobile services while saving hundreds of dollars.”

The advantages of this upgrade are clear. Enhanced download speeds allow you to enjoy streaming services without interruptions, and cloud gaming becomes effortless without long installation times. Just make sure that your router can handle these updated speeds; if you’re still using an outdated Xfinity device, it might be time to consider an upgrade to one that can support higher bandwidth.
