Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 24 is happening on June 10 to 14 is primarily focuses on potential hardware updates and software advancements.

Here are the things we’re waiting to see at WWDC 24;

1. iOS 18

iOS 18 is all set to get lots of new options, especially in the AI department. Apple is set to improve features of its apps, such as Apple Music, Siri, Xcode, iMessage, iWork, and others. Apple also makes a much-awaited customization on its home screen, giving more control over app icon placement.

Apple’s focus on privacy can also be seen in AI as Apple will enable the GPTs to run locally on iPhones, MacBooks, iPads, and Macs without needing any cloud communication.

2. visionOS 2

Updates to macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS are also anticipated, with visionOS 2 expected to receive its first major update, visionOS 2 will allow users to customize the Home screen, notification center, and app folders.

  • Multiple user support
  • Unlocking with Apple Watch or iPhone
  • Taking calls from the headset

3. M3 Ultra Chip

Apple will also release the M3 Ultra chip featured in Mac Studio and Mac Pro models. This workstation chip will allow high-end workers such as graphics, rendering, or animation to reach even higher peaks with improved performance.

4. Mac Studio and Mac Pro with M3 Ultra Chip

Apple will further release Mac Studio and Mac Pro’s new models which will feature a M3 Ultra Chip with enhanced storage such as RAM, Processing Speed, Storage, and compatibility. Users will also see the enhanced GPU capabilities.

5. AI

Apple will also focus on AI to compete with Microsoft and Google. This could get to another level when Apple releases its own ChatBot app, including AI App Store and on-device Generative AI.

6. Developer Tools and Sessions

Apple will also give access to new frameworks, features, and tools. The conference will also include one-on-one lab appointments, video sessions, and opportunities to communicate with Apple engineers.

7. Hybrid Format

WWDC 24 will happen in person as well as online, the model called Hybrid format that Apple adopted in a few years. This format allows developers all around the world to watch the event live. A selected tour will also get a chance to experience the event in person.

8. Swift Student Challenge

Apple is all set to help the next generation of developers through their Swift Student Challenge, winners will be eligible to attend the in-person experience at Apple Park.
