The United Arab Emirates has initiated a humanitarian Ramadan campaign called “Had Al Hayat” (Edge of Life), focused on saving the lives of five million children suffering from severe hunger and malnutrition, announced Dubai’s ruler. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum revealed that this effort will prioritize children under five who are facing critical food insecurity.
“Had Al Hayat” signifies children at a fragile threshold between life and death caused by acute hunger and malnutrition, the Sheikh explained. The campaign will operate in partnership with various international organizations and aims to gather at least AED 1 billion (approximately $272 million) from local and global donors.
Traditionally, the UAE launches significant charitable initiatives during Ramadan, and this year’s campaign centers on combating extreme child hunger worldwide.
