Two men who allegedly stole 195,000 AED from a woman after distracting her with a “faulty tire” trick were apprehended within three hours, according to police reports. The woman had withdrawn the cash from a bank in Fujairah, a UAE emirate situated on the eastern coast along the Gulf of Oman, and secured it inside her vehicle.

The suspects followed her, and when she stopped, one approached claiming her tire was damaged. As she stepped out to inspect, the second suspect opened her car door, seized the cash, and both suspects fled the scene. Authorities reported receiving the complaint around 10:50 a.m. After quick coordination with Sharjah Police, the suspects were located and arrested in Sharjah, approximately 62 miles west of Fujairah.

Officials added that the two men were wanted for similar thefts in other emirates. Residents are urged to remain cautious after withdrawing cash and to avoid engaging with strangers outside banks to prevent falling victim to such scams.
