Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is set to release on July 11, with early access on July 8 for those who opt for the deluxe editions. This exciting installment will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Additionally, it will launch on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass for PC, marking the introduction of new skate parks for the first time in a decade.
The journey to this release has been five years in the making. The critically acclaimed Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 was released in 2020, igniting hopes for additional remakes. However, those ambitions faced setbacks when Vicarious Visions, the development team, was absorbed into Blizzard in 2021 and converted to a support studio. The following year, Tony Hawk confirmed plans for the remakes of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4, but indicated progress was halted due to the studio’s transition.
Finally, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is becoming a reality under a new development team, Iron Galaxy Studios, known for titles like Rumbleverse and Killer Instinct.
Activision has released two trailers showcasing the visual enhancements and revamped skate parks. Iconic locations such as the airport and Canada appear in the first trailer, set to the soundtrack of Motorhead’s Ace of Spades. Players can anticipate a return of classic tracks from previous games like Adolescents’ Amoeba and CKY’s 96 Quite Bitter Beings, alongside new additions to the soundtrack.
The second trailer reveals a redesigned Foundry and highlights the Digital Deluxe edition, which offers an array of Doom-themed extras. Players who choose this edition will receive special Doom-themed gear, including a character deck and costumes, and can play as Doom Slayer and a Revenant. Pre-ordering the Digital Deluxe edition grants access on July 8, while a Collector’s Edition will also be available, which includes these perks, a full-size Birdhouse skate deck, and a Tony Hawk autograph.
While pre-ordering the standard edition won’t provide early access, it includes a Wireframe Tony Shader and access to a demo in June, allowing players to experience the Foundry park, although this demo will not be available on Nintendo Switch.
In addition to the new parks, the remake will also introduce fresh skaters into the lineup, including Rayssa Leal, Chloe Covell, Jamie Foy, Zion Wright, and Yuto Horigome.
The standard edition of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 launches on July 11 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
