Glen Powell can finally take a break now that filming for The Running Man is complete.
Powell took to Instagram to share a snapshot with director Edgar Wright.
“That’s a wrap on The Running Man,” Powell said in the caption. “I’m filled with love and gratitude for our amazing cast and crew who have dedicated themselves to this project. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve been working on. Stay tuned for more updates soon!”
The Running Man draws inspiration from Stephen King’s 1982 novel, which he penned under the name Richard Bachman.
In this dystopian thriller, Powell plays Ben Richards, a man in dire need of money to support his ailing daughter. With limited options available, Richards enters The Running Man, a brutal game show where participants are hunted for sport. The grand prize: a substantial cash reward for anyone who can survive the deadly competition.

The cast of The Running Man also features Josh Brolin, Katy O’Brian, Daniel Ezra, Karl Glusman, Lee Pace, Jayme Lawson, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, William H. Macy, David Zayas, Sean Hayes, and Colman Domingo.
Wright not only directs the film but also co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Bacall. The pair previously collaborated on the 2010 film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
This project marks the second adaptation of The Running Man. In 1987, Arnold Schwarzenegger portrayed Ben Richards in Paul Michael Glaser’s version, which, while not a commercial success at the time, has since gained a cult following.
Powell’s role in The Running Man adds to his expanding list of projects. The 36-year-old actor has recently gained recognition from his performances in Hit Man and Twisters, and he has another film, Huntington, and a TV series, Chad Powers, set to premiere later this year. Additionally, Powell will feature in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming film for Warner Bros.
The Running Man will hit theaters on November 7, 2025.
