Although Verizon was the first to introduce 5G home internet, early users expressed frustration about limited coverage and inconsistent connections. Meanwhile, T-Mobile, despite entering the market later, managed to offer “nationwide” service at launch, reaching many more households right from the start.
T-Mobile 5G Home Internet Plans
Initially, T-Mobile offered a single, straightforward plan to its customers, making the decision process easy. Today, customers can choose from three primary plans, each with its own variations:
- T-Mobile Rely Plan: For $45 per month or $35 if you add a T-Mobile voice line, this basic plan is geared towards casual users. With a five-year price lock, unlimited data, and a basic 5G Gateway, it’s an affordable choice. Autopay can reduce the price to as low as $40 monthly.
- T-Mobile Amplified Plan: Starting at $65 a month (or $60 with autopay), this plan offers the same five-year price protection and unlimited data but includes a more powerful 5G gateway and “advanced cybersecurity” via the T-Life app.
- T-Mobile “All-in” Internet Plan: At $75 per month or $70 with autopay, this plan features the enhanced 5G gateway plus a Wi-Fi extender for wider coverage. It combines cybersecurity with 24/7 video support from customer service and free Hulu and Paramount+ (essential) memberships.
What is T-Mobile Tuesdays?
T-Mobile offers exclusive promotions to subscribers every Tuesday, akin to Verizon Perks. These deals often include discounts on dining options such as pizza from Little Caesars, movie ticket reductions, and a complimentary Slurpee from 7-Eleven each month.
Average T-Mobile 5G Home Internet Speeds
T-Mobile claims that most users experience download speeds between 87 and 318 Mbps, averaging around 250 Mbps. However, users have reported varying speeds depending on the time of day and location. According to a Reddit review, one user’s download speeds fluctuated between 23 Mbps and 331 Mbps, with uploads averaging around 35 Mbps.
T-Mobile 5G Home Internet Coverage
As of this update, T-Mobile Home Internet is available in all 50 states, although its rollout typically occurs city by city. Customers in larger or mid-sized urban areas are more likely to have access than those in rural regions. Be sure to use T-Mobile’s availability checker.

Initially, T-Mobile’s 5G Home Internet service was accessible to around 10 million households, but that number has now expanded to over 50 million, according to company reports.
T-Mobile Fiber Home Internet Plans
In addition to its 5G offerings, T-Mobile has recently launched fiber internet service with impressive download and upload speeds of up to 2 gigabits.
- T-Mobile Fiber 2 Gig Plan: Priced at $110 monthly (or $90 with a voice line), this plan offers unlimited data, 2 Gbps speeds, no annual contracts, a five-year price guarantee, a Wi-Fi 6 router with extenders, and T-Mobile Tuesdays perks.
- T-Mobile Fiber Founders Club 2 Gig Plan: Designed exclusively for first-time T-Mobile customers, this attractive offer allows access to the 2 Gbps plan for just $70 per month with autopay. It also features a remarkable ten-year price lock.
While this deal is excellent, fiber service is currently confined to 40 markets across the U.S., with aspirations to reach 12-15 million households by 2030. Check availability to see if you qualify. A Reddit discussion reveals that customers are generally satisfied, reporting stable and fast service, and many are looking forward to its expansion into other areas.
