Gamescom 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting event, with playable demos of many highly anticipated titles, including Hollow Knight: Silksong. However, these demos will only be accessible to attendees at the event, leaving those not traveling to Germany unable to try them out for now. Still, having a playable version of Silksong is fantastic news for fans who have been eagerly awaiting its release for years.
The announcement was made today via a post on Xbox Wire. Maxi Graeff, the Xbox marketing lead for Germany, shared that over 20 games will be available for hands-on play, along with experiences featuring the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X controllers. Additionally, Gamescom 2025 will host a World of Warcraft celebration centered around the upcoming Midnight expansion, which promises exciting new housing features.
Playable demos will be offered for the following third-party games:
- Hollow Knight: Silksong
- Borderlands 4
- Onimusha: Way of The Sword
- Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
- EA Sports FC 26
- Aniimo
- There Are No Ghosts at the Grand
- PowerWash Simulator 2
- Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
- Final Fantasy XVI
- Invincible VS
- Super Meat Boy 3D
- Cronos: The New Dawn
- Mistfall Hunter
In addition to these, Grounded 2, Ninja Gaiden 4, and numerous other titles will be available for hands-on experience. Meanwhile, The Outer Worlds 2 will get a theatrical preview that explores its late-stage capitalist setting in more detail.
Bethesda will be hosting a broadcast directly from the show floor starting Friday, and Xbox FanFest is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Although the contest winners for this year have already been selected, fans are encouraged to sign up for next year’s sweepstakes.
A live stream covering many of the event’s announcements is scheduled to begin at 9 AM ET on Wednesday, August 20, and Thursday, August 21. While it may not fully replicate the experience of being there in person, this broadcast offers a great way for fans to stay updated on the latest news and releases.
