The upcoming Global Developer Pioneers Summit will be held in Shanghai’s Xuhui district at the end of this month, shining a spotlight on cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies. Organized by the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, the event spans three days, starting on March 27, and will feature three competitions, over 50 workshops, more than 100 interactive experiences, and various festivities.
The opening ceremony is set to unveil new industrial policies, while industry leaders and innovative entrepreneurs will showcase recent technological breakthroughs, real-world applications, and practical implementation cases during a dedicated AI innovators session.
According to Zhong Junhao, secretary general of the Shanghai AI Industry Association, the summit’s goal is to establish a comprehensive verification platform for global developers and the industrial sector. It encourages industry players to propose academic research questions, supporting AI for Science plus agent (AI4S+Agent) solutions that can be applied in industry and empower entrepreneurs and developers alike.
By leveraging innovative development and deployment models like OpenClaw and Skills Marketplace, the event plans to extend AI technology across every stage of the supply chain, Zhong explained.
The summit will also feature competitions such as the Super Entrepreneur Innovation Challenge, the OpenClaw Hackathon, and the Vibe Coding Tournament. These events aim to identify solo AI startups, verify the performance of agents in complex scenarios, and explore AI-assisted programming and generative coding, respectively.
Workshops will delve into advanced topics such as AI for Science, AI coding, AI-generated short films, AI advertising, agents, OpenClaw, and smart devices. These sessions aim to foster in-depth dialogue among developers, companies, and investors.
Attendees will have the chance to experience real-world AI applications firsthand through interactive sessions, which will highlight the capabilities of agent technology in practical scenarios.
The event will also feature lively festivals such as Developer Night by the Huangpu River, the OpenClaw Lobster Festival, Silicon-Based Parent Meeting, Geek Party, and the WAIC Innovation Roadshow, creating a vibrant environment for global tech professionals.
“The AI industry has become a vital engine of economic growth in Shanghai,” stated Pan Yan, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology.
“Shanghai’s AI companies with substantial operations generated over CNY 637 billion (approximately USD 88.2 billion) last year, marking a 40% increase from the previous year,” Pan noted. “As of the end of last month, the city had registered 149 generative AI services.”
