India’s aviation authority reported late Monday that a Beechcraft medical evacuation aircraft crashed in Jharkhand, an eastern state. Seven individuals were on board, including two crew members.
The Beechcraft C90, operated by Redbird Airways, departed from Ranchi at 7:11 p.m. local time (13:41 GMT). Shortly after takeoff, the crew requested a route adjustment due to bad weather. Communication and radar contact were then lost, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Rescue teams are currently on-site, and investigators from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau have been dispatched to examine the scene. It remains unclear whether there were any casualties resulting from the crash.
