India’s aviation regulator reported late Monday that a Beechcraft emergency aircraft crashed in the eastern state of Jharkhand, with seven individuals onboard, including two crew members.
The Beechcraft C90, operated by Redbird Airways, departed from Ranchi in Jharkhand at 7:11 p.m. local time (13:41 GMT), requesting a deviation due to weather conditions. Shortly after, the aircraft lost communication and radar contact, according to a statement from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Search and rescue crews are currently at the crash site, and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau has been notified to begin an investigation. It has not yet been confirmed if there were any injuries or fatalities resulting from the incident.
