The highly anticipated Samsung tri-fold phone, which some refer to as the Samsung G Fold, is finally nearing its launch date. This innovative device is expected to rival the Huawei Mate XT and is rumored to debut in July. However, recent information indicates that it may initially be available only in China and South Korea.
Smartprix recently uncovered two model numbers in the GSMA database. The first model number, SM-F968N, appears to indicate a listing focused on South Korea, as the “N” designates products intended for that market. The second model, SM-F9680, with the “0” marking its availability in China. Notably, both models are associated with the internal identifier Q7M, which aligns with earlier reports about the tri-fold device.
As of now, no other model numbers have surfaced, pointing to Samsung’s limited initial release strategy, which may focus solely on these two regions. While there’s speculation that the device could reach a wider global audience later in the year, ongoing trade tensions and uncertainty may cause Samsung to adopt a more measured approach to its rollout.

It’s worth noting that the absence of listings for European and Australian markets raises questions about Samsung’s strategy. Considering the company showcased its multi-fold device during the January Galaxy Unpacked event, it seems unusual to restrict its initial release so severely.
Details surrounding the Samsung G Fold’s specifications remain scarce, but reports indicate that the company aims to produce around 200,000 units. Expected features include a remarkable 200MP primary camera, along with a 12MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto lens, as well as a 10MP front camera. Moreover, the device is anticipated to carry a price tag exceeding $2,000.
