Sadie Sink is set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming Spider-Man 4. However, it remains unclear if she will portray Jean Grey.
Recently, Sink was announced as part of the Spider-Man 4 cast alongside Tom Holland. While specifics about her character have not been disclosed, it’s rumored that her role will carry significant weight. Speculation has linked her to the character of Jean Grey from the X-Men franchise.
In a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Sink addressed the swirling rumors about her potential role as Jean Grey, only to dismiss them.
“I hadn’t heard that until now,” Sink remarked with a laugh when host Josh Horowitz inquired about Jean Grey.
When Horowitz prompted her further about discussions with Kevin Feige regarding taking on the iconic X-Men character, Sink replied, “No, I don’t have anything to share on that. But the rumors are really exciting; they’re so cool!”
Sink went on to emphasize that Jean Grey is a “fantastic character.”

Is Sink just playing it safe, much like other actors who have kept Marvel secrets under wraps? It certainly seems plausible. Andrew Garfield famously denied any involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home for nearly a year, only to later reveal a significant role in the film.
Spider-Man 4 will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Tom Holland is set to reprise his role as Peter Parker, with Zendaya likely returning as well, although her participation has yet to be officially confirmed.
Production is anticipated to kick off later this year, with Spider-Man 4 scheduled for theatrical release on July 31, 2026.
