Alan Ritchson has expressed a strong desire to take on the role of Batman.
In a recent interview with Wired, the star of Reacher was asked about the possibility of him stepping into the iconic Bat-suit.
“Would I play Batman? Absolutely,” Ritchson replied. “Would I pay a lot just to be Batman? Honestly, you wouldn’t even need to compensate me—I’d gladly wear the costume.”
He even practiced a Batman-esque growl, proclaiming, “Gotham is mine.” With a chuckle, he added, “Look at that. No practice needed; it just comes naturally.”
Ritchson has been candid about his ambition to portray Bruce Wayne. In a January 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he shared his admiration for the Batcave and emphasized that Batman’s greatest strength is his intellect.
“I would be thrilled to play Batman,” Ritchson exclaimed to THR. “There, I said it. I want to scream it from the rooftops—I want to be Bruce Wayne!”

Currently, Robert Pattinson is portraying Batman in Matt Reeves’ crime saga. However, it should be noted that Pattinson’s version exists within DC Elseworlds and is not part of the main DC Universe.
DC co-CEO James Gunn has clarified that Pattinson will not be the Batman for the DCU, revealing that a new actor will be cast for the upcoming film The Brave and the Bold.
Despite Gunn’s clarification, Ritchson mentioned that fans still envision him in the role of Gotham’s protector. “What amazes me is that even after James Gunn publicly stated on his Twitter, ‘Lol, he’s not playing Batman. He is not playing Batman!’ the rumors just won’t go away,” Ritchson remarked during his chat with Wired.
For fans hoping to see Ritchson in a crime-fighting role, they can continue to watch him in Reacher on Prime Video.
