In light of ongoing border conflicts between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban, the situation remains tense. The conflict has escalated to what’s been described as an “open war,” with Pakistan responding decisively after Taliban forces launched unprovoked attacks across multiple sectors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Khyber, Mohmand, Kurram, and Bajaur.
Pakistan’s military responded with Operation Ghazab lil-Haq (Righteous Fury), targeting several Taliban positions and destroying strategic posts. The Pakistan Air Force carried out strikes in Kandahar, Kabul, and Paktia, resulting in significant casualties. So far, Pakistani officials report 12 security personnel have died, 27 others injured, and approximately 331 Taliban fighters have been killed. An earlier update noted that 297 Taliban members had been killed during this operation.
