Pakistan reiterates its strong support for the Palestinian people, calling on the international community to take immediate action through a lasting ceasefire in Gaza. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, emphasized that Pakistan plans to promote peace in the Middle East during its term as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2025-2026.

He pointed out that violence against settlers and military raids in the West Bank and East Jerusalem are escalating under an extremist Israeli leadership that seems committed to ending the prospect of a two-state solution. “This is a critical moment for the Middle East and the Muslim world,” he stated.
Dar stressed the importance of maintaining the momentum generated by the High-Level International Conference on implementing a two-state solution. He urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to advocate for:
1. An immediate, unconditional, and enduring ceasefire
2. Secure, open corridors for humanitarian aid and full support for UNRWA, the UN agency that sustains millions of Palestinians
3. A halt to forced displacement and the establishment of new Israeli settlements
4. The return of land and property confiscated since 1967
5. The right of Palestinian refugees to return home
6. War crimes trials and reparations for damages
7. Respect for all International Court of Justice rulings
8. An Arab-led plan for Gaza’s reconstruction
9. An international protective force for Palestinians
10. A fully independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and representation at the United Nations
