According to Microsoft’s Support page, the Outlook application is currently experiencing a problem where it crashes when attempting to open more than 60 emails at once. This issue compounds an existing glitch involving the Ctrl + C keyboard shortcut, and the tech giant is looking into the underlying causes.

If you attempt to open over 60 emails or use the copy command, the application may freeze, displaying various error messages. Messages could include prompts such as: “Sorry, we’re having trouble opening this item. This may be temporary, but if it persists, consider restarting Outlook. Out of memory or system resources. Please close some windows or programs and try again.”

Another possible error message states: “Out of memory or system resources. Please close some windows or programs and try again.” No matter which message you encounter, navigating this issue can be quite frustrating, especially if you find yourself needing to open such a large number of emails. The positive news is that Microsoft is actively working on a solution, though a timeline for the fix has yet to be disclosed. We’re hopeful it will be available soon.

For those seeking a quicker solution, Microsoft advises modifying the Windows registry to allow for more simultaneous processes. However, we advise caution with this approach, as incorrect changes to the Windows registry can lead to severe complications, including application failures and system malfunctions. Alternative solutions involve reverting to a previous version of Outlook or trying the New Outlook app.
