Mecha Break is an exciting new game that lets players unleash their inner mech pilot, blending exhilarating elements from Gundam with a hint of Armored Core. An open beta on Steam is set to begin soon, and it’s an excellent opportunity for gamers eager to experience this title prior to its official launch.
Customization is a core feature of the game, allowing you to create the mech suit of your dreams and test it against other players. The personalization options go beyond just weapons and structural components—players can also select their mech’s colors for a truly unique look. Why not go for a striking pink tank with lime green highlights? After all, who says flashy aesthetics can’t be a powerful tactic in combat?
Your avatar can be customized as well, with a robust character creator that has already allowed players to recreate popular characters like Asuka Langley Soryu and D.Va, showcasing the extensive options available.

The initial playtest on Steam saw the number of players skyrocket from 3,000 to a staggering 51,000, indicating a strong interest in the game. Various game modes will keep players engaged, including a 3v3 deathmatch, a 6v6 mode reminiscent of hero shooters, and even a PvPvE extraction mode. With such diversity, there’s no risk of getting bored.
Fast-paced action and precise controls allow for exhilarating aerial maneuvers and evasion tactics, particularly in the PvPvE mode where players will face off against dozens of opponents. Staying alert is crucial, as attacks can come from any direction.
Open beta sign-ups kick off on February 20, with the beta launching on February 23. You can already wishlist Mecha Break on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation. However, only PC players will have access to the open beta initially, while console enthusiasts will need to wait for the official release, which is planned for sometime before the end of 2025, though no specific date has been confirmed yet.
