JLab, a budget-friendly headphone manufacturer, has introduced three new models of earbuds, with prices ranging from $37 to $119. The Go Pods ANC and JBuds Pods ANC are designed for daily commuters and music enthusiasts alike, featuring a stem-style design that surrounds the ear, along with impressive battery longevity and hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC). For fitness lovers, the Epic Open Sport marks the brand’s first foray into open-ear headphones. All three models are expected to be available within the next six weeks.
The Go Pods and JBuds Pods operate within JLab’s new Pods product line, offering hybrid noise cancellation that effectively minimizes background noise for an immersive listening experience. Furthermore, users have the flexibility to manage external sounds with three modes: ANC On, ANC Off, and Be Aware (which allows external noise to pass through), as per the information shared in a press release. The JLab app enables users to personalize their ANC settings as well.
Both the Go Pods ANC and JBuds Pods ANC come equipped with various audio presets—JLab Signature, Balance, or Bass Boost—as well as a 10-band equalizer, allowing users to fine-tune their sound preferences. The app also facilitates customization of touch controls.
The entry-level Go Pods ANC, priced at $37, targets commuters and travelers, delivering comfort and sound clarity for individuals on the move. With 7.5 hours of playback time, they exceed the performance of competitors like the AirPods 4 ANC, and the charging case extends total usage to 26 hours. Although the case lacks wireless charging, it includes a USB-C cable, and a quick 10-minute charge provides one hour of listening time. These earbuds have an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance, making them suited for sweaty workouts or a quick rinse under the faucet. The Go Pods ANC will be available in black and lilac starting May 13, 2025, and can be purchased directly from JLab’s website.
Meanwhile, the JBuds Pods ANC offer an upgrade over the Go Pods, retailing at $65. They’re designed to deliver “Lab Quality Sound” and “Lab Spatial Audio” for enhanced audio experiences. These compact earbuds feature 11mm drivers, six microphones for hybrid ANC, and provide 10 hours of battery life per charge with a total of 56 hours when combined with the case. Like the Go Pods, the JBuds Pods ANC support a quick charge and also offer the convenience of wireless charging.
With the same IP55 rating and Bluetooth multipoint capability, the JBuds Pods ANC will also launch on May 13 and be available in black.
Finally, the Epic Open Sport earbuds, priced at $115, introduce an innovative open-ear design that keeps the earbuds securely in place during physical activities. This model allows users to remain aware of their surroundings while enjoying music, made possible with larger 14.2mm drivers positioned for superior sound delivery. Although ANC isn’t included due to the design, these earbuds promise high-fidelity audio quality.
The Epic Open Sport supports a frequency range of up to 50kHz with minimal distortion and is hi-res audio certified, compatible with Android devices that support LDAC. Users can access the same sound presets and EQ settings via the app, and while individual battery life wasn’t specified, the case provides an estimated 30-plus hours of total playtime. This model, only available in black, will be on sale starting April 22, 2025, directly from JLab’s website.
In summary, JLab’s latest offerings provide a range of options for different lifestyles, whether for everyday commuting, workout sessions, or immersive sound experiences.
