Dubai Police have issued a warning to residents to stay alert about fake work visa schemes, as scammers are exploiting job seekers with bogus promises of employment and visa sponsorship.
The Anti-Fraud Center of the General Department of Criminal Investigation explained that these scam artists are offering “fraudulent visa deals” to illegally collect money from individuals, urging everyone to be extremely cautious.
Authorities emphasized that any claims of guaranteed visa sponsorships lack legal standing. Officials mention an increasing number of fraudsters targeting people with false promises of jobs, even though they have no authority to issue visas.
Dubai Police reaffirm that work visas in the emirate can only be obtained through official government channels and properly licensed recruitment agencies.
Officials also recommended that the public should be especially skeptical of offers made through illegal channels or unofficial platforms. If someone becomes a victim of a fake visa scam or encounters suspicious online offers, they should report it to the police immediately. Early reporting can help protect others from falling for similar frauds.
Finally, authorities advise verifying all visa offers with the appropriate government agencies before making any payments to avoid financial losses.
