Anticipation for the iPhone 17 is running high, with emerging rumors suggesting that this iteration could surpass expectations significantly. A reliable source, Digital Chat Station, reports that the entire iPhone 17 series will employ Apple’s latest intelligence on a large scale, with each model—ranging from the standard iPhone 17 to the iPhone 17 Pro Max—boasting 12GB of RAM.
This information aligns with earlier predictions made by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, adding further credibility to the speculation. Current iPhone models max out at 8GB of RAM, marking a notable 33% increase in memory capacity with the new models. Digital Chat Station also mentions that the devices will be powered by the TSMC A19 Pro chip, which is touted to be the most powerful processor yet seen in an iPhone. Collectively, these advancements suggest that the iPhone 17 lineup will deliver significantly improved speed compared to its predecessors.
Another exciting aspect of the iPhone 17 lineup is the rumored introduction of an “Air” model, which is expected to have an impressively slim design—some sources indicate it may be just 5.1mm thick. This model is also projected to feature a large OLED display with a high refresh rate, potentially making it the lightest iPhone available.

Now the burning question is how the increased RAM and new processor will affect the pricing. While the exact retail price of the iPhone 17 remains uncertain, a launch around $799 is anticipated. However, economic factors, including the ongoing trade war and tariffs, may influence the final cost. Given that conditions can shift dramatically leading up to the launch, this estimate remains speculative.
Previously rumored supply chain challenges could pose obstacles to the iPhone 17’s availability. Nevertheless, assuming no major setbacks, the device is expected to be unveiled during Apple’s annual event in September 2025.
