The iPhone 17 Air has sparked a considerable amount of speculation and leaks, with the latest report indicating that its display may be as large as 6.7 inches instead of the previously anticipated 6.6 inches. This update comes from Jon Prosser, who shared the information on the Recycle Bin podcast.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard chatter about the screen dimensions. Previously, analyst Ross Young suggested a size of 6.55 inches, which would round up to 6.6 inches. Since then, estimates have varied widely. The iPhone 17 has generated numerous conflicting reports, so it’s wise to approach this news with skepticism.
Prosser’s history with leaks has seen its share of successes and misses; some of his predictions, like the AirTag’s design, were accurate, while others missed the mark. A 6.7-inch iPhone 17 Air would be an exciting addition, but it would also bring it close in size to the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the iPhone 16 Plus.

The release for the iPhone 17 Air is anticipated in September 2025, alongside the full iPhone 17 series. Recent leaks hint that its design might be reminiscent of the Google Pixel, a prediction supported by another tipster, Majin Bu, along with WEIS Studio, and aligning with the expected 5.5mm width of the device.
If any of the forecasts regarding this device come to fruition, the iPhone 17 Air could signify a significant redesign for Apple—potentially one of the most substantial in recent history. This model is likely to serve as a replacement for the iPhone 17 Plus, fitting neatly between the standard iPhone 17 and the more advanced iPhone 17 Pro.
Whether or not it will boast a markedly larger display along with a slim profile remains to be seen.
