Google has introduced AI Mode Pakistan in English, offering its most advanced AI search tool—AI-powered Search—to local users. This feature enables quicker, smarter, and more detailed answers to intricate questions.
Initially launched in the U.S. earlier this year, AI Mode is now expanding worldwide and is gaining popularity among users for its speed, high-quality responses, and fresh insights. It is built on a customized version of Gemini 2.5, allowing users to pose longer and more complex queries that previously needed multiple searches.
Early feedback indicates that queries are already two to three times longer than traditional searches, making it especially useful for exploratory tasks such as comparing products, planning trips, or understanding detailed how-to guides. It goes deep to answer several questions simultaneously and provides useful links for further investigation.
For example, Pakistani users can use AI Mode for various purposes:
– Travel Planning: “I’m planning a trip to Hunza in October. Can you suggest a five-day itinerary that balances sightseeing, adventure, and local cuisine?” Follow-up prompts might include asking for local food spots or traditional dishes to try.
– Educational Support: “My child is in ninth grade and struggles with math. Can you recommend free online resources in Pakistan to help with algebra and geometry?” Follow-up questions could involve interactive apps or YouTube channels for ninth-grade math practice.
Behind the scenes, AI Mode employs a query fan-out process, splitting questions into subtopics and generating multiple related queries. This approach allows Search to explore the web more deeply than ever before, helping users discover highly relevant content.
What sets this experience apart is the integration of advanced modeling capabilities with Google’s top-tier information systems directly within Search. Users can access not just comprehensive web content but also real-time data sources like the Knowledge Graph and shopping information for millions of products.
AI Mode also supports multimodal interaction, letting users communicate via text, voice, or images. Leveraging Google Lens, users can snap photos of objects or scenes and ask related questions—for instance, taking a picture of exotic spices in a Karachi market and asking about their uses in Pakistani cuisine. Follow-up questions can be handled in a conversational manner, creating a seamless browsing experience.
The mission remains to help users explore and find the best content on the web. With AI Mode, users can articulate their specific needs and retrieve content in various formats, enhancing discovery and search capabilities. Based on Google’s core quality and ranking systems, AI Mode aims to improve factual accuracy. When confidence is low, it defaults to web search results. Being in early stages, the system may not always be perfect, but ongoing improvements are planned.
Currently, AI Mode is available in Pakistan on the Google App (Android and iOS) and accessible via both mobile and desktop web platforms.
