Four individuals were detained Tuesday after images of President Donald Trump alongside sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were projected onto Windsor Castle, where the president was scheduled to meet with King Charles during a state visit to the UK.
Trump arrived in Britain late Tuesday for his second official state visit—an unprecedented second term—and is set to be welcomed by King Charles on Wednesday for a ceremony filled with pomp at Windsor Castle, located roughly 25 miles west of London.
Earlier that day, demonstrators unfurled a large banner displaying a photo of Trump with Epstein near Windsor Castle, and later projected several images of the two men onto one of the castle’s towers.
Authorities issued a statement confirming that four adults had been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications related to an unauthorized projection at Windsor Castle, which they called a “public stunt.” All four remain in custody.
Recently, Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives released a birthday letter purportedly written by Trump to Epstein more than two decades ago, though the White House has challenged its authenticity.
This letter, along with images of Epstein’s victims, news coverage of the case, and police reports, was projected onto the castle during the protests.
The曝光 of this letter has rekindled debate over an issue that continues to be politically sensitive for the president. Despite urging his supporters to disregard the controversy, public interest in Epstein’s criminal activities and the extent of others who might have known or been involved remains high.
Trump was friends with Epstein prior to his presidency but ended their relationship several years before Epstein’s death in 2019 behind bars. The birthday letter features a purported dialogue between Trump and Epstein, in which Trump refers to him as a “pal” and wishes that every day be “another wonderful secret.” The text is accompanied by a crude sketch of a naked woman’s silhouette.
In addition to the protests, various media embeds and social media content were also displayed and integrated into the event, involving scripts and dynamically loaded media elements from multiple sources, including Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, to enhance the public display and online engagement.
