The Roborock Saros 10 and Saros 10R stand out as top-tier robotic vacuums, excelling in mopping and vacuuming, alongside their self-cleaning capabilities, which enable them to perform flawlessly for several weeks without user intervention. Still, like any electronic device, they can encounter issues. During our testing, we experienced minimal troubles, although some users have reported a few minor glitches. Fortunately, most of these can be quickly resolved with a little maintenance, allowing your Roborock to return to peak performance.
If your robotic vacuum has encountered any problems, here's an overview of the most frequent errors seen with the Roborock Saros 10, along with easy solutions. These tips will equally apply to the Saros 10R.
How to Fix Error 5
This error usually points to an issue with the robot's main brush. To remedy this, ensure that the brush is free from obstructions and that it can spin without hindrance. It may be necessary to remove the brush and inspect its chamber for trapped debris or hair. Once any blockages are cleared away, the error should resolve itself.
For ongoing prevention, consider inspecting the main brush regularly to ensure nothing gets stuck in its mechanism.
How to Fix Error 9

Error 9 typically surfaces when the dustbin and filter aren’t installed correctly. Try reseating the filter and running the vacuum again. If the error persists even with everything properly secured, check that the magnet is intact on the filter's side; if it’s missing, the robot won't recognize the filter as installed. You'll need to replace the filter if the magnet is gone to resolve this issue.
How to Fix Error 10
Error 10 indicates a clogged filter. To rectify this issue, remove the filter, clean it, and allow it to dry completely before reinserting it. Once the filter is clean and dry, the error should cease to occur.
How to Fix Error 18
Error 18 signals a problem with the fan or suction. Here are a few steps to address the issue:
- Take out the dustbin and look for any debris that might be blocking the airflow.
- Consider cleaning or replacing the filter.
- Gently tap the side of the robot to dislodge any blockages obstructing its path.
If these actions don't resolve the issue, it may be necessary to reach out to customer support or purchase a new fan.
How to Fix Improper Surface Detection

Though the Saros 10 and 10R excel at identifying different surfaces, some users have noted difficulties, such as the robot mistaking carpets for hard floors, triggering the mops to activate unnecessarily.
A straightforward fix is to access the Roborock mobile app to manually designate the types of floors in your home. This option is available while editing your map, allowing you to specify where the robot should mop. Additionally, cleaning the various sensors with a soft cloth can be beneficial.
When in Doubt, Perform a Factory Reset
This should be your last resort if all else fails. To perform a factory reset, press and hold the home button while also pressing the reset button on the top of the device. Continue holding the home button until the indicator lights turn off.
Keep in mind that this action will erase all your saved data, but it may clear up any lingering issues that other troubleshooting steps couldn't resolve.
