Viva New Vegas! Prime Video has announced the release date and shared first-look images of the upcoming second season of Fallout, which will explore the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas.
In the finale of Fallout Season 1, Hank escapes in his power armor with plans to reach New Vegas—one of the few major cities rebuilt from the ruins of Las Vegas after the nuclear disaster. This city is among the most iconic locations within the Fallout universe and sets the stage for the fourth video game, Fallout: New Vegas.
Season 2 features a cast including Ella Purnell as Lucy MacLean, Aaron Moten as Maximus, Walton Goggins as the Ghoul/Cooper Howard, Kyle MacLachlan as Hank MacLean, Moisés Arias as Norm MacLean, and Frances Turner as Barb Howard.
The new images tease the upcoming season, showing Lucy and a Ghoul, presumably the character Howard portrays, having conversations amidst the wasteland while heading toward New Vegas. They’re searching for Lucy’s father, who may hold crucial answers about the Ghoul’s missing family. Additionally, there are historic photos of the Ghoul from before the war, capturing moments where he interacts with his wife, Barb.
Other images depict Maximus still allied with the Brotherhood of Steel and Norm continuing to stay in the Vault. You can view the season 2 images below, offering a glimpse into what’s ahead.
Fallout is based on the popular video game franchise that delves into themes of societal inequality in a world almost devoid of resources. Set 200 years after humanity’s collapse, people had to retreat underground into fallout shelters, leaving a violent and unpredictable surface world waiting for them.
Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as creators, showrunners, and executive producers of the series, with Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy also involved as executive producers. The show is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Kilter Films, in partnership with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks.
Following its debut in April 2024, Season 1 received positive reviews and quickly became the second most-watched series in Prime Video history, surpassed only by The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The second season is set to premiere on Prime Video this December.
