Dubai has established itself as a top global hub for billionaires, especially as worldwide wealth hit an all-time high of $15.8 trillion in 2025, according to the latest Billionaire Ambitions Report 2025.
Published annually by UBS, a leading Swiss financial firm renowned for managing the assets of ultra-wealthy families and tracking international billionaire trends, the report highlights a surge in the number of wealthy families relocating. Motives include security, lucrative business prospects, tax benefits, and an improved quality of life.
Data shows that 36% of the world’s billionaires have changed their country of residence at least once, with Dubai, Singapore, London, and New York being the top choices. The United Arab Emirates, particularly Dubai, has become a significant center for global wealth, drawing in high-net-worth individuals from Pakistan, India, Europe, and across Asia.
Experts cite Dubai’s tax-free environment, political stability, robust economy, and cosmopolitan lifestyle as key factors attracting the world’s elite to safeguard their wealth there.
The report also reveals an intriguing trend: female billionaires increased their wealth at twice the rate of their male counterparts in 2025. This signifies that women’s wealth grew over 8%, compared to about 3% for men. This growth is driven by more confident investments in technology, finance, and innovative startups.
Another notable insight is the record transfer of wealth across generations; in 2025, families handed down approximately $297.8 billion—the largest transfer ever recorded. Many young heirs are establishing roots in the UAE, attracted by its business-friendly regulations and extensive global connectivity.
Meanwhile, self-made billionaires contributed an additional $386.5 billion to global wealth this year. Significant growth occurred in the United States, Asia-Pacific, and Middle East regions, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Looking ahead, the report predicts that by 2040, close to $7 trillion will be inherited by the next generation of wealthy families. This expected influx will likely accelerate the migration of wealthy individuals toward stable financial centers such as Dubai.
Overall, the rise of the UAE as a magnet for global wealth underscores its increasing prominence in the international economic arena, especially for investors from emerging markets like Pakistan seeking stability and long-term security.
