Investigators are currently reviewing radar data, flight path recordings, and video footage to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. A parallel investigation is underway to assess possible causes such as power loss or a control system failure. This incident marks the first fatal accident in the history of the Dubai Airshow’s flying displays.
A joint team of authorities—including the UAE civil aviation authority, the armed forces aviation division, and the Dubai Airshow’s Flying Control Committee—is examining all technical data and routine display documentation. They are analyzing radar tracks and high-resolution videos to reconstruct the jet’s altitude profile and maneuver sequence leading up to the impact.
Authorities are also investigating whether the pilot performed any aerobatic maneuvers that were not officially approved for the show. Meanwhile, a separate technical investigation is focused on whether mechanical issues such as sudden power failure or control system malfunction prevented recovery.
Since its inception in 1989, the Dubai Airshow has been held biennially and had not experienced a fatal accident until Friday, when the crash resulted in the pilot’s death and halted the day’s demonstrations. No official conclusion will be reached until all evidence—such as cockpit data, maintenance records, and approved routines—has been thoroughly examined.
