Dubai police have implemented AI-powered noise radars to keep tabs on vehicle noise levels throughout the city. These advanced devices can identify honking, modified exhaust systems designed to amplify sound, and loud music blaring from car interiors.
Motorists who exceed the prescribed noise limits will be hit with a fine of AED 2,000—roughly Rs 150,000—and will also earn 12 black points. In the UAE, black points serve as penalties for traffic violations; accumulating 24 black points can lead to license suspension.
Authorities have advised drivers to maintain public tranquility and exercise responsible driving. They issued a warning that strict action will be taken against any individual causing unnecessary noise disturbances.
