Donald Trump, the former US President, has introduced a distinctive offer for his supporters by announcing the sale of segments from the suit he wore during his mugshot, captured when he was booked on racketeering charges in Georgia.
As part of a wider sale involving non-fungible token (NFT) “digital trading cards” priced at $99 each, this offering provides a unique twist. Buyers acquiring 47 of these digital cards will not only obtain the digital versions but also receive a physical card, housing a genuine piece of the suit worn by Trump in his notorious mugshot.
In a video shared on Truth Social, the social media platform aligned with Trump, the former president enthusiastically endorsed the initiative, expressing, “It was a fantastic suit, trust me, a truly remarkable suit.”
This decision comes after the triumph of Trump’s earlier foray into the realm of NFTs when he introduced his “TRUMP DIGITAL TRADING CARDS” in late 2022. This time, portions of the suit are being cut up, and participants will obtain a piece of it.”
In a post accompanying the video announcement, Trump stated, “Because of the tremendous enthusiasm and success of my earlier TRUMP DIGITAL TRADING CARDS, we’re doing it again – The MugShot Edition, available RIGHT NOW.”
He further enhanced the offer by saying, “Purchase 47 cards, and not only will you receive a fragment of the suit I wore for the ‘Mugshot Photo,’ but you’ll also secure an invitation to a Gala Dinner with me at Mar-a-Lago!”
For $4,653, the package encompasses the previously mentioned dinner with Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago club and residence in Palm Beach, Florida. The dinner occasion, expected to draw enthusiastic Trump supporters, introduces an experiential dimension to the NFT sale.
Trump’s mugshot was captured in August at Fulton County Jail in Georgia, marking him as the first former US president to undergo this procedure. He confronts 13 felony charges linked to allegations of scheming to reverse his defeat in the 2020 election in Georgia.
Even after pleading not guilty and denouncing the charges as a politically motivated witch hunt, Trump has capitalized on the mugshot by previously introducing a range of merchandise. This merchandise includes T-shirts and mugs displaying the slogan “NEVER SURRENDER.”
