Following the news that Concord, PlayStation’s live-service hero shooter, would be discontinued merely two weeks after its release, many were left wondering about the fate of its episode in the upcoming Amazon series, Secret Level.

A production source has confirmed to Digital Phablet that the Concord episode is still on schedule to be featured in the first season of the anthology series, set to premiere on December 10. Even with the game’s current unavailability, it will gain a second chance at life through the show.

Secret Level is an animated anthology that draws inspiration from video games, recently announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live. Created by Tim Miller, known for the acclaimed Love, Death & Robots, the series will feature stories based on various titles such as Armored Core, Crossfire, Pac-Man, and The Outer Worlds, as well as broader brands like PlayStation and Warhammer 40,000.

The teaser trailer for Secret Level offers only a brief appearance of Concord, showcasing the freegunner Star Child around the 1:16 mark.

This announcement comes on the same day Concord officially ceased operations. Earlier this week, Firewalk Studios revealed that they would be taking the game offline to explore future options and have also promised full refunds to players. After its lackluster launch on August 23, which saw low engagement and mixed reviews, this move isn’t considered permanent, leaving room for potential reworking ahead of a future return.

Featuring in Secret Level might significantly impact the game’s visibility and reputation. Firewalk previously committed to three seasons of updates for Concord, suggesting that there are several storytelling angles that could be explored in an animated format.
