ShengShu Technology has raised nearly 2 billion CNY (around 293 million USD) in its latest funding round, led by a major cloud computing division of a prominent Chinese e-commerce company. The startup plans to leverage this investment to create a universal world model that bridges digital and physical environments.
The Series B funding also saw participation from a national strategic investment fund, a well-known online education platform, a venture capital firm, and existing investors.
The company’s founder stated that their goal is to develop a unified model architecture that links perception to action in a closed-loop system, incorporating understanding, generation, and interaction with the real world. This aims to enable world models to effectively connect digital information with physical activity.
The core team, originating from a leading Chinese university’s Institute for Artificial Intelligence, is dedicated to building a versatile intelligent system capable of precise modeling, reasoning, prediction, and action in both virtual and physical realms.
Based on its foundational World Model, the company has launched two AI tools: Vidu, a video generation application, and Motus, an action-oriented model built on its video architecture.
The latest version of Vidu, called Vidu Q3, can produce videos up to 16 seconds long with synchronized sound, supporting multiple shot transitions, camera movements, and multilingual dialogue.
Motus is designed to serve as an embodied intelligence system, enabling robots to transition from simple modular tasks to cohesive intelligent agents. The company is collaborating with several top AI firms specializing in embodied robotics to develop systems for large-scale use across industrial, commercial, and household sectors.
