Childhood blockbuster, Chicken Run will be back next year on Netflix

Chicken Run, when it got premiered this year, became the biggest animated movie of the time. Its sequel is said to be bound at Netflix.

On Tuesday, Netflix stated that they have planned to create a followup for the Aardman film, Chicken Run, in order to celebrate their 20th year anniversary. The production would take place in the coming year.

Netflix has taken the rights to the sequel outside of China from Studiocanal and Pathé after Aardman first announced in 2018 that it was working with the companies on a second film.

The original actors of Rocky and Ginger; Mel Gibson and Julia Sawalha, who assisted in escaping the group of chickens, would now bid to release them from the power of Mrs. Tweety. So that she won’t be able to transform the farm into the chicken factory for edible items. The film made it to achieve Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations.

Its followup would maintain the residence of Rocky and Ginger in a human-free area with Molly, the hatched young girl. As soon as they start to face a new and worst threat, they involve themselves by risking their own freedom in order to secure their species.

Carla Shelley, Karey Kirkpatrick, and Peter Lord are the executive producers while the director is Sam Fell. This amazing production is by Steve Pegram and the script of this sequel is created by John ‘OFarrell, Rachel Tunnard, and Karey Kirkpatrick.

Moreover, the creative director and co-founder; Lord Aardman stated that the fans residing across the world were waiting for its sequel and thus they are delighted to announce their worthy production.

He found the perfect story to reveal on Netflix’s 20th anniversary. Netflix celebrates its filmmakers and expects the filmmakers to produce ideal productions too by emphasizing the global audience, he further revealed.
