Cadillac kicked off its electric vehicle lineup with a promising entry in the form of the Lyriq, and now the luxury division of General Motors is gearing up to enter the competitive three-row family SUV market with the 2026 Vistiq. While it won’t be the frontrunner in this category—following the current gas-powered XT6—Cadillac aims to distinguish itself with a unique design and cutting-edge technology.

Set to make its debut next year, the 2026 Cadillac Vistiq features a blend of the classic boxy profile of the XT6 and a stylishly revamped front inspired by the Lyriq, a design that’s been affectionately coined “The Mandalorian” by its creators due to its resemblance to a famous bounty hunter’s helmet. Thoughtful styling elements have been employed to give the Vistiq a sleeker look, including rear design cues taken from the iconic Cadillac CTS-V wagon, resulting in a rugged appearance reminiscent of the Escalade.

The Vistiq will come equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system capable of producing 615 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, propelling this seven-seater from zero to 60 mph in approximately 3.7 seconds via a launch control called Velocity Max, according to Cadillac’s predictions. Not too shabby for an SUV weighing 6,326 pounds. Enhanced handling features like available air suspension and rear-wheel steering are designed to offset its heft, while a noise cancellation system aims to diminish the sounds typically associated with vehicles lacking a traditional gasoline engine.

Cadillac projects the Vistiq will achieve a range of 300 miles, utilizing a substantial 102-kilowatt-hour battery pack. An optional 19.2-kilowatt onboard charger can provide up to 46.7 miles of range for every hour of charging. Additionally, like other modern GM electric vehicles, the Vistiq boasts vehicle-to-home (V2H) capability, which allows it to function as a backup power source for the home.

Perfect for family adventures, the Vistiq is capable of regaining up to 79 miles of range in about 10 minutes with DC fast charging. Cadillac hasn’t clarified whether the Vistiq will feature a CCS port like the Lyriq or the Tesla-style NACS port, but it’s launching during the timeframe GM mentioned it would transition to the NACS. Nevertheless, Vistiq owners will have the option to utilize Tesla Supercharger stations via an adapter regardless of the port type.

Inside, the Vistiq is outfitted with a stunning 33.0-inch driver display, complemented by twin 8.0-inch touchscreens for the first and second rows, managing features such as the optional five-zone climate control and a state-of-the-art 23-speaker AKG sound system. The infotainment system is built on Google technology, eliminating the need for Apple CarPlay or standalone Android Auto. Additionally, there is no front trunk, though Cadillac points out that the Vistiq offers more space behind its third row compared to the gasoline XT6.

Production is set to commence early next year at GM’s Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, which also manufactures the Lyriq and previously produced vehicles for the now-defunct Saturn brand. Deliveries are expected to begin next summer, with a starting price of $78,790, which positions the Vistiq competitively within the expanding market of luxury three-row electric SUVs, including rivals like the Rivian R1S, Volvo EX90, and Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV.
