Alienware has announced the AW3425DW, a successor to the well-received AW3423DW launched in 2023. This new 34-inch ultrawide gaming monitor features Samsung’s second-generation QD-OLED panel. With a resolution of 3440 x 1440 and an impressive 240Hz refresh rate coupled with a 0.03ms GTG (Gray-to-Gray) response time, it promises a quick and responsive gaming experience while delivering excellent visual quality.
The AW3425DW is compatible with both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, alongside VESA AdaptiveSync, ensuring that gamers enjoy smooth, tear-free gameplay. It’s equipped with 99.3% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, a stunning peak brightness of up to 1000 nits, and holds VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification for deep contrast and vibrant visuals. The monitor features an 1800R curvature for enhanced immersion and supports multiple connectivity options, including DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, USB-A, and USB-C with a charging capability of up to 15W.

Available for $799 in the U.S., the AW3425DW is set to roll out to additional markets soon. Like its predecessor, it comes with a three-year burn-in warranty, which is a crucial aspect for OLED monitors concerned with long-term image retention.

When compared to the earlier AW3423DW, the AW3425DW increases the refresh rate from 175Hz to 240Hz and features enhanced thermal management thanks to its graphene-based heatsink. The aesthetic has also been refreshed, transitioning from Alienware’s previous Lunar Light finish to a darker Interstellar Indigo color scheme, complete with slim bezels for a modern look.
The most striking difference is the lower price point. Launching at $799, the AW3425DW offers a significant reduction from the original AW3423DW’s $1,299 price tag, making QD-OLED technology more accessible to gamers. Notably, the AW3423DW has since dropped to match this new price.
