WhatsApp is about to enhance its user experience with a new feature that enables easy switching between multiple accounts.
In its latest beta version for iOS, 25.19.10.74, the platform owned by Meta revealed that this feature will be found in a dedicated section within the settings, displaying an overview of all registered accounts.
This section will show each account’s profile picture and name, making it straightforward to switch between them.
When a user chooses a different account, WhatsApp will switch instantaneously, loading the relevant chat history and applying the corresponding settings and preferences.
Settings like notification sounds, auto-download options, backup choices, and more will be customized for each account, ensuring a tailored experience. Furthermore, users can add new accounts without any risk to their existing data.

Users can switch accounts without logging out or restarting the app. The transition will happen smoothly within the same session, allowing for effortless navigation with just a tap.
A confirmation message will momentarily appear at the bottom of the screen, letting users know that the account switch was successful.
In the upcoming update, if a message arrives on a secondary account while the user is active on the primary one, WhatsApp will issue a distinctly formatted notification that will show which account the message is for by including the account name.
This notification will present both the sender’s name and the account name that received the message, eliminating any potential confusion from handling multiple accounts.
By tapping on such a notification, users will automatically switch accounts and be directed right to the pertinent conversation.
This feature will greatly benefit users who possess more than one phone number and prefer not to use WhatsApp Business for a secondary account.
As eSIM technology becomes more common—especially on newer iPhone models that can accommodate multiple eSIMs—this upcoming WhatsApp feature will be particularly useful.
Nonetheless, it’s important to note that this feature is still in development and will be released in a future app update.
