Meta Platforms is expanding its team by bringing on four additional researchers from OpenAI, according to a report from The Information over the weekend.
The new recruits—Shengjia Zhao, Jiahui Yu, Shuchao Bi, and Hongyu Ren—have all accepted offers to join the company, as revealed by a source familiar with the situation.
Earlier this week, the parent company of Instagram also acquired talent from OpenAI’s Zurich office, including Lucas Beyer, Alexander Kolesnikov, and Xiaohua Zhai, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Both Meta and OpenAI did not provide immediate comments when contacted by Reuters regarding this development.
Meta has been actively seeking to recruit more researchers from OpenAI to bolster CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s efforts in developing superintelligent systems.
