Sharjah Authorities Uncover Fake Zamzam Water Operation

In Sharjah, local authorities recently conducted a raid on a residential property that was illegally functioning as a counterfeit Zamzam water factory. The individual responsible for this unlawful operation was apprehended on-site while bottling regular water and deceitfully marketing it as genuine Zamzam water.

Officials reported that the suspect was filling attractive bottles with standard water and labeling them as Zamzam, misleading consumers about its legitimacy. Authorities confiscated numerous bottles labeled as Zamzam water, along with cartons and other items indicative of fraudulent activities. Investigations further revealed that the individual was misusing the name of an authorized water trade company to execute financial fraud.

As a result of the operation, the company’s license was revoked, and the case has been forwarded to the Sharjah Police for potential legal proceedings. Authorities are urging the public to be cautious and refrain from purchasing unlicensed products, especially those advertised on social media. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to the municipality’s call center at 993.

Saudi Arabia has reiterated its commitment to strict adherence to Hajj regulations, emphasizing the necessity of possessing a valid permit to participate in the annual pilgrimage. The Saudi Ministry of Interior stated that individuals found performing Hajj without an appropriate permit will face immediate deportation and a ten-year entry ban. Officials stressed that holding a permit is an essential requirement for anyone wishing to undertake the pilgrimage.

The ministry has called on all residents to strictly follow Hajj rules and regulations, highlighting that these measures are designed to ensure the safety of pilgrims and facilitate the smooth execution of rituals. Additionally, authorities encourage the public to report violations by contacting emergency numbers: 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Region, or 999 in other parts of the Kingdom.

On Tuesday, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary reaffirmed the Kingdom’s unwavering dedication to supporting pilgrims through a well-coordinated system, in line with the directives of leadership and Vision 2030 goals. He emphasized that the campaign “No Hajj Without a Permit” is crucial for organizing the pilgrimage and raising awareness.
