NEW DELHI: On Wednesday, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced that an official from the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has been declared “persona non grata,” and must leave the country within 24 hours.
“The Charge d’Affaires at the Pakistan High Commission was formally notified today. He has been instructed to ensure that all Pakistani diplomats and officials in India uphold their privileges and status without any misuse,” the ministry stated.
The Indian government indicated that the official was involved in “activities considered incompatible with diplomatic responsibilities.”
