WhatsApp is developing a feature that will allow users to add and manage multiple accounts without needing to switch devices or use WhatsApp Business.
This functionality will be part of an upcoming update, as reported by WABetaInfo, referencing the latest WhatsApp beta version for iOS, 25.9.10.70, available via the TestFlight app.
This anticipated feature from the popular Meta-owned messaging platform will enable users to add a second account directly through the app settings. A significant aspect of this update includes a potential redesign of the settings page to accommodate the new options.
Moreover, once users add a second account, their profile picture will appear in the settings tab bar, facilitating a clear distinction between accounts.
WhatsApp has two main methods for setting up a second account. The first allows users to create a new profile by registering with a different phone number.
The second option provides a way to link a new account by scanning a QR code from the primary device.

The new multi-account functionality ensures that preferences for each account remain distinct, thus reducing confusion.
For example, notifications, backups, media auto-download settings, and other preferences will be kept separate for each account, allowing users to clearly manage their personal and professional profiles.
This separation will create tailored experiences that feature unique tones and alert settings for each account.
Currently, WhatsApp is focusing on perfecting these features to guarantee seamless performance across devices and accounts, including optimizing the synchronization of profile updates, messages, and notifications.
A specific launch date for this new feature has not yet been disclosed.
