As we approach the end of 2024, there’s an exciting title on the horizon — Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Unfortunately, potential PC players may find the system requirements quite challenging, even those equipped with top-tier graphics cards.

Below is a comprehensive look at the system requirements, and it’s quite revealing. For the first time, the RTX 4090 appears in a list of system requirements. While the RTX 4090 represents the pinnacle of gaming performance, it seems excessive, as even graphically demanding titles like Alan Wake 2 and Dragon Age: The Veilguard don’t require it. Here, however, you’ll need the RTX 4090 to fully enjoy the game at 4K resolution.

The highest tier of system requirements is particularly intriguing. To hit optimal performance, you’ll need a flagship CPU like the Core i9-13900K — although the actual CPU names listed in the official table seem to be inaccurate. Alongside the RTX 4090, utilizing DLSS 3 with frame generation and performance upscaling is essential just to reach 60 frames per second (fps).

Stepping down to lower specifications still presents significant demands. For the base requirements, you’ll need the RTX 3080 Ti to achieve 60 fps at 1440p. Although it is an older model, the RTX 3080 Ti retailed at approximately $1,200. Interestingly, the more budget-friendly RX 7700 XT also meets these specifications, though the RTX 3080 Ti offers significantly more power due to its 12GB of VRAM.

The minimum specifications are not overly taxing, but it’s notable that all of the graphics recommendations include at least 8GB of VRAM. The minimum tier operates on the Low graphics preset at 1080p, a resolution where upscaling technologies like DLSS and FSR can struggle. From this recommended specs list, it appears Indiana Jones and the Great Circle may face challenges running smoothly on graphics cards with only 8GB of VRAM, as every tier above the minimum specifies GPUs with greater than 8GB.

These specifications might be a precautionary measure. Previously, titles like Alan Wake 2 managed to run well across a wider range of hardware than initially anticipated. However, with the demanding nature of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, players may want to consider upgrading their PCs to experience the game at its best.
