Watch the 2024 Solar Eclipse Live Online Streaming

The United States, Canada, and Mexico will experience a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. And people from all around the world can watch it online.

NASA has set up two views of the live broadcasting, which allows users, who can’t see the full solar eclipse in person can watch it online.

Telescope View

The official broadcast will show the live coverage of the 2024 Solar Eclipse from Texas while the Telescope view will be live from Torreon, Mexico Cobertura en Viva en Espanol.

What is a Total Solar Eclipse?

A total eclipse happens when the moon completely covers the sun. The sun’s corona, the outermost shell is visible when the moon completely covers the entire moon, creating a breathtaking view.

Total solar eclipses are a rare phenomenon. It happens once on average after every 18 months somewhere on the earth.

When to Watch

  • Date: April 8, 2024
  • Partial Eclipse Begins: The partial eclipse starts around 3:00 PM UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).
  • Totality: The total eclipse phase begins around 4:30 PM UTC and lasts for approximately 4 minutes and 28 seconds.
  • Partial Eclipse Ends: The eclipse concludes around 6:00 PM UTC.

Where to Watch

The Solar Eclipse 2024 will be visible in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

In the United States:

The eclipse will pass through several states, including Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

In Mexico

The solar eclipse will begin over the South Pacific Ocean and will cross Mexico.

Canada

The eclipse will enter Canada in Southern Ontario and continue through Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia.

Precautions for Safe Viewing

  • Protect Your Eyes: It is not recommended to look directly in the sun without proper eye protection. You can use the certified solar eclipse glasses to look at it.
  • Avoid Cameras and Binoculars: Looking directly at the sun without filtered cameras and binoculars can damage your eyes. Attach solar filters to your device before use.
  • Children and Pets: Make sure you put your children and pets in a safe place where they cannot look at the sun. Encourage them not to look at the sun, and educate them about the harm that would cause to their eyes.
